These ink paintings represent a place where reality meets imagination, a significant location that acts as a symbolic sanctuary for me. As I take my daily walk into the woods, I come to a small clearing, a quiet spot where I can sit and listen to the forest sounds. It is also a place where there are often signs of deer having bedded down for the night. They gather in the dusk and disappear with daylight.
I like to imagine the deer as the gentle spirits of this woodland place. Unseen, but ever watchful.
